Code of conduct when using the discussion features of the ISWC2017 website

Aims

ISWC 2017 provides a dedicated page for each paper listed in the conference program. The goal is to collect questions in real time during the sessions, and to gather feedback and comments related to each paper. We hope that this design can assure an inclusive and efficient way to engage inactive discussion, while also serving as an additional asset for conference participants and the Semantic Web community in general.

Community standards

There are several simple and reasonable guidelines, which we expect all participants in the ISWC2017 discussion system to abide by. Please note that moderation decisions will be applied according to these guidelines.

  1. While we welcome discussions, debate and criticism, personal attacks against any person will not be tolerated. Please provide constructive arguments and focus the debate on the article or publication under discussion.
  2. Please respect other people’s views and beliefs. If we find that a comment is extremely offensive or threatening, we reserve the right to delete the content.
  3. Please be clear and avoid off-topic comments. Try to elaborate on your comments to avoid misunderstandings.
  4. Do not post unrelated commercial comments or spam. While reference to commercial products related to the discussion are acceptable, any kind of clearly unrelated advertisement or spam will not be tolerated.
  5. Racism, sexism, homophobia or other contributions that could be interpreted as hate-speech will not be tolerated.
  6. We will remove any content copyrighted without the express permission of the owner of that material, as well as any content that violates any law or may put us in legal jeopardy.
  7. Be pleasant and avoid vulgar, abusive or hateful language.

In short, please make good use of this shared space.

The ISWC2017 organization, its partners and supporters do not necessarily share the views expressed in the discussion areas of this site.
